Home Inspection FAQ

Common questions about Inspector Catch-it® services in Santa Clarita, Newhall, Simi Valley, and the surrounding corridor.

What is included in a home inspection?

A certified home inspection typically covers the roof, exterior, structural components, foundation or crawlspace, doors, windows, interior, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, attic, ventilation, insulation, and built-in appliances, following InterNACHI Standards of Practice. See our About page for more detail, and a sample report.

What does California BPC 7195 say?

California Business and Professions Code Chapter 9.3 (including section 7195) defines a home inspection as a noninvasive, physical examination of the systems and components of a home. The state does not require a home inspection when buying. Read the current text on the California Legislature site.

Do you offer thermal imaging?

Yes. We have used thermal readings since 2007 and include visual thermal images to help spot moisture, insulation, and electrical issues. Learn more on our thermal inspections page.

What is a commercial 4-point inspection?

A commercial 4-point inspection focuses on key systems of an investment property (typically roof, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC) and delivers a condition report. Details: commercial 4-point inspections.
